The Coral, with its unfamiliar blend of authentic country, psychedelica, folk, and rock'n'roll, cut strange silhouette on today's musical landscape. Like many indie bands, their work often features on soundtracks to many TV advertisements and programmes, guaranteeing instant musical recognition. The Coral have released five albums to date, amid much critical acclaim. Their self-titled first album was voted the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine, as well as nominated for the 2002 Mercury Prize.
