TV on the Radio tickets
Information about TV on the Radio.
TV on the Radio's 2003 debut EP, Young Liars, was received well by the indie community, and the New York City band whose music crosses genres as diverse as free-form jazz, doo-wop, soul, and electro, didn't stop there. The band has since released a number of EPs, as well as acclaimed albums; 2004's Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, and 2006's Return to Cookie Mountain. This latter offering received larger exposure and even made the higher end of some end-of-year charts. Tickets to TV on the Radio were all of a sudden a hip commodity. Rolling Stone magazine voted it the fourth best album of the year, for instance, and others decided outright that TV on the Radio were the new force in indie music.
Spin Magazine named Return to Cookie Mountain its Album of the Year for 2006, a fabulous recommendation for the New York group. The album includes guest appearances by TVOTR friends, indie band Celebration, Dragons of Zynth, Antibalas, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner, and, tellingly, David Bowie. Ziggy doesn't step up for just anyone, and we can surely take this latter appearance as a clear indication that rock 'n' roll is alive and well with the strangely named TV on the Radio.
